Hey everyone, I was wondering if this white faded line on the left side of my Macbook Pro Mid 2012 13” Screen is normal or is it a problem? You can only see it when the screen is black like when playing a video or editing a photo with a black background.

As to why your iPhone causes the screen to go black when you place it on the uppercase near the trackpad has to do with a Hall Sensor just underneath the uppercases shell. This sensor senses the magnet in the lid so when you close the lid the display turns off. Here your iPhone which has a magnet is setting off the sensor! Nothing wrong here.
