No you cannot. The XS uses a more efficient OLED panel whereas the XR uses the older LCD panel. Although you can buy the cheaper LCD panel for a XS, I highly advise against it as the phone was not designed to use the more power hungry LCD which will not only impact battery life, but it will also damage the display connectors after a while.
