The usb port 2.0 type B female connector used to power the midi keyboard broke off the PCB Board. i soldered a new connector onto the pcb board. When i try to power on my Midi keyboard now I get the message

. The problem is not the usb ports on my MacBook. When i plug in other usb devices they work. Not sure what the problem is? Update (09/26/2019) @oldturkey03 sorry for the delayed response. I unsoldered the connector so you can get a visual of the Pcb.

@greenfortgriot there might be a chance of a short from soldering or possibly shorted traces. Post some images of your repair etc with your question. I am implying that you found the proper USB port for your repair Update 10/04/19 Okay so here is the best I can see with that picture. The top and bottom hole on the right seem to be cracked. there are no more solder pads. You have multiple torn runs. You can solder the contacts to the next component following those traces. The problem is that you do not have enough clear picture to figure it out. Hence the question marks since I can not make out enough of the components that are possible candidates to connect to. I am sure you follow where I am going with those lines. That is where you need to solder some jumper wires from your USB connector to. The two larger holes on the left and right are anchors for the port so you should be okay with them in place. Not easy but it can be done. Grave concern I have is the right side of the connector but you can always try since you really have nothing to lose on this. I do urge you to practice some soldering on an old board first. You will have better results with your repair.
