I just purchased a replacement battery for a DELL XPS 13 9360. With the previous battery, the laptop would die as soon as the power cord was unplugged and it always had a yellow flashing light. Dell BIOS system tests indicated a bad battery. With the battery replacement, the indicator light no longer flashes yellow continuously and the BIOS tests pass. The battery will not charge past 46% and the laptop still dies immediately if power cord is unplugged.

Hi @siliconpaladin I know that you said that you’re using the original charger but have you got access to a compatible charger at all that you can try? The only other thing that I can suggest is to do a full power refresh in case there is a corrupted BIOS. Turn off the laptop and disconnect the charger. Disconnect the main battery. Disconnect the coin cell RTC battery from the motherboard Here’s the service manual go to p.35 to view the procedure. Press and hold the power button for a full 20 seconds and then release. Reconnect the RTC battery Reconnect the main battery Reconnect the charger and switch on and check

Hi, The Problem is The laptop battery is not the original battery and the replacement battery should have the same specifications’ as the the Manufacturer that’s what the machine is designed for . if the problem persists i recommend contacting Dell as its a new machine not long released so you may be covered by the warranty and recommend running their diagnostics tool.
