Starts fine when brake is manually depressed when I let it off the engine dies. I strapped the switch shut but pto will not engage
I would suspect a problem with the seat “safety” switch. These switches normally open when you stand up to get off the machine and thereby result in engine shutdown. It could also be that the leads to this switch have come loose or been cut somehow.
