Great! We’ve narrowed down what needs to be looked at! Is this the original drive or a replacement? At this point we need to look at the blade SSD which is in your system as its failing! Time to open up the system to check it out. Follow this guide to Step 2, take a picture of the SSD so we can read the labels on it and post it here so can check things MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Mid 2015 SSD Replacement Update (12/28/2020) Well you have me scratching my head! I just can’t see how replacing the battery would have effected SMC so surgically! I could understand the SSD failing which could explain the thermal sensor issue. Now that you’ve replaced it with no change. That pushes us back to the logic board. So… I’m suspecting you may have damaged the SMC logic in the process of taking the board out. The SMC chip and its circuity is located on the backside of the logic board
