Chosen Solution
I just replaced the charging port for my nieces iPhone 6s plus and it still isn’t charging. I tried hooking it up to my computer and the phone still isn’t detected even with the new port installed. She has pictures (that should’ve been backed up) of vacations and a friend that recently has passed. Is there anyway to retrieve the photos? She had also recently sent it in to get repaired and they told her that it was the LCD Bezel housing, does anyone know what this is?
sounds like it possibly needs the charging chip replaced
In case of the pictures solution is easy and very important for this person. So first get a full battery replace and than turn iphone on. :) I would recommend that before going to try sollutions for the dock fix .
Hello Donald, Did the previous shop tell you that the housing was BENT? The phone’s motherboard spans much of the length of the housing , so a bent frame often means a bent motherboard. If the phone turned off immediately after being bent, there could be several hours of expert work required to repair the hardware well enough for data recovery. As much as I like to encourage do-it-yourselfers for general repair, this is not a case of first aid. It’s not even routine surgery. It’s closer to brain surgery. If your daughter’s pictures are extremely valuable, I would encourage you to send it to a professional that specializes in data recovery, even if they seem expensive. iPad Rehab in Mendon NY would be good option. Anyone who quotes a cheap pricing for data recovery on a dead bent motherboard likely will not know what they are doing and make the problem worse.
