Chosen Solution
Hello, hope someone can help me out. I have just purchased a second hand JVC LT-65NU50A TV. When i plug it in and power it up the power led changes from red to blue and that is absolutely all it does. Nothing comes up on the screen, not even the start up animation. Unfortunately i can’t even find a manual for it online and have no idea where to start looking for a solution. Pressing any other button but the power button on the unit does nothing and shows no reaction. Any ideas what to try or do? After reading a few posts i have taken a few photos from the side with a flashlight directed on it so maybe that helps.
Hi, Were you told that the TV was faulty when you purchased it? If not then contact the seller and ask for a refund. Cannot see to well in the images that you posted but can you see any display in the screen when the TV is turned on? You have to hold the torch at an angle very close to the screen to check if there is an image at all. It will be very faint if it is there so trying it in a darkened room may help. If you were aware that the TV was faulty when you purchased it, then you will have to disconnect the power from the TV, remove the back cover and initially visually inspect the boards for any obvious component damage such as stressed or burnt out components or blown or bulging capacitors, loose cable connections etc. The fact that you get a standby light which then changes when the TV is turned on indicates that there is some power there but maybe not all. You may have to measure the voltage outputs on the power board. Hopefully they are shown on the board itself, as JVC doesn’t like giving out much information publicly. Try searching online using the board number of the power board to check if there are any schematics for the board. It may be a process of elimination. If the power board basically tests OK then you next have to look at the mainboard. It may be easier to try and find a replacement board than to try and fix a mainboard without a schematic as mostly these days the mainboard is controlled by software. Hopefully this is a start
