My Emerson (model number LC401EM2F) keeps turning off when I press the power button. It will turn on for a couple of seconds then shuts off on it’s own. How can I fix this?
@ceejay1978 let us know if you can immediately turn it back on or if you have to wait. this is usually caused by a bad power board if you have no signs of life when it shuts down. Otherwise, it can be the main board turning the TV off. Let us know what you have checked. You’d have to remove the back form your Tv and take a good look at the boards etc. You’ll need a multimeter to check those things.
You can always post some images of your boards etc. if stuck with trying to figure it out. Adding images to an existing question Before anything else. make sure that you only use one input source since shutdowns can also be caused by external factors such as a bad cable box etc.
