my washer will not spin, it puts water in and takes it out but it will not spin to wash or spin when the water goes out. the lock on the door works, the belt and bearing is ok could it be the motor or the control board?

The 417 is build by Frigidaire. This washer will not spin if it does not drain properly. Check the discharge volume and rate of flow coming out of the drain hose. It should be strong full flow, not a trickle. If its not draining properly, take a good luck at the pump first. Remove it and clean it out. Make sure you have a bucket or pan handy since you will have a lot of water coming out. Also, make sure you have it unplugged. This from the service manual "

  1. Check the drain hose for restrictions. No restriction. Go to step (2).
  2. Start the washer and check for 120 VAC at the drain pump. If Zero. Replace the control board. If 120 VAC. Remove the pump and check for blockage. If blocked, remove the restriction, if not, replace the pump. Open/shorted wiring. Correct wiring. You may just find a couple of missing socks etc :-) Hope this helps to get you started, good luck.
