The ignition key mechanism won’t turn off or release key. I have been removing fuse to shut her down… It is stuck in “on.” Turning of the steering wheel to relieve locking does not seem to help. Any suggestions would be appreciated Scott

Depending on the year there is a small hole which you stick a paper clip into next to the key hole. Pushing the clip in and turning the lock set toward accessory will allow the whole lock set to be removed.

Some old cars with the key on the steering column would ‘lock’ the key in if the wheels were turn all the way to the left or right, such as when parallel parking. You had to pull the steering wheel real hard in the opposite direction while simultaneously turning the ignition.

Do as Frankie advised you, I had the same problem a few years ago and that did the trick.
