Chosen Solution
I was using my macbook this morning to do homework, and when I was finished I put it on charge. I came back an hour later only to find that the trackpad and keyboard no longer work! I did every possible thing to try to fix it and found no solution. Finals week is coming up and this mac has all my stuff on it. External keyboard and mouse does work, just not the internal. Any help will be appreciated!
It sounds like your battery has swollen up which is pressing on the uppercase messing up your keyboard and trackpad. Lets check it by running this gem of an app CoconutBattery Post a snapshot of the apps main window here for us to see Adding images to an existing question You could also give this a try: Place your system in a plastic bag suck out as much air as you can and tie-it off. Place your system into your refrigerator for an hour or two that should reduce the swelling, letting you use the keyboard and trackpad again. Here’s the part you’ll need MacBook Pro 15" Retina (Late 2013-Mid 2014) Battery and heres the guide MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Mid 2014 Battery Replacement if you’re up to doing it your self. Otherwise if you have an Apple Store or authorized service center near you you could let them do it.
