I am currently owning a MacBook Air 2012, but the light of the keyboard is not working. I have asked apple for helped and we have gone through all the steps resets etc, but it still is not working apple said that it is a hardware problem. Does anybody know how I could fix this problem. I can see the icons when I press f5 and f6, but nothing works. any help would be appreciated!
I think you’ll need to test the ribbon cable connection on the logic board using a DVM. Review this IFIXIT guide: MacBook Air 13" Mid 2012 Logic Board Replacement. Jump down to Step20. You’ll need to make a set of microprobes with some sewing pins as you’ll want to test the voltage at the ribbon as it enters the connector.
