Keyboard not working in MacBook Pro 13” mid 2014. All reset keys works at when powering up. Also when force turn off (shift+control+option) it works. It turns off the machine. I Did the SMC, PRAM, and NVRAM. Also did the Hardware Test (option+D). No issues shows. Keyboard works for 5 seconds when powered up(at boot). Setups I did.

  1. Power Key presses
  2. Pressed the caps lock(green light comes on) worked for 5 sec
  3. Pressed the Space Bar at hardware test to connect Internet. Worked for 5 sec.

The trackpad on this model can cause strange issues with the keyboard (if it’s unplugged for example, only the power button will work). We have seen a lot of the trackpads on 2014 13" models fail in strange ways, causing intermittent issues like this. First thing to try is a test trackpad and trackpad cable to rule out this causing the problem. Worth checking the logic board beforehand, in case there are any obvious signs of liquid damage.
