Let’s do this… Go into your Keyboard control panel in System Preferences. Now go to the Input Sources tab and check ‘Show Input menu in menu bar’ Also take a snapshot of as well of the full panel and post it here for us to see Adding images to an existing question. Now close the System Preferences and from your menu bar locate the flag icon and then select Show Keyboard Viewer So now as you type on the keyboard the given key should blink in the viewer. Is the correct key showing physically? As an as example so the A key is the one showing in the viewer even if the letter on the screen is different.
