Keyboard Replacement With Old Backlight Macbook Air 13 Early 2014

Hello there, I will replace my MacBook Air’s (A1466) keyboard with a new one. Can I use old backlights? Will it work if I replace the keyboard with a new one and not replace the backlights with a new one? Or should I replace both with new ones? Thanks!

If you had a liquid spill (the reason you are replacing the keyboard) then you should replace both!
