I just removed and replaced a magsafe port on my nephew’s macbook pro 13” mid 2012. The port fix went great and is now fixed. While I was replacing the keyboard ribbon wire I noticed one of the pins on the motherboard was loose and disconnected. I was still trying to get the ribbon wire on when it ripped. I put the machine all back together and of course the keyboard does not respond. I know the pin needs to be resoldered but what kind iron or tip do I need? Also, is there a replacement ribbon wire for this macbook? Thanks in advance.

You may have opened a large can of worms here. You will probably have to replace the keyboard. MacBook Pro Unibody (A1278) Keyboard Here’s how to replace the keyboard: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEs6Nl34
