Hi, can someone help me as I’m tearing my hair out. I reinstalled Windows 10 onto my laptop but the keyboard wouldn’t work, I took it apart and took the ribbon off and back on, it worked! Then the touchpad wouldn’t work. I tried everything, installing smart asus, etc, but nothing worked and nothing shows in device manager. I thought the ribbon looked scratched so i bought a new one, fitted it and still the touchpad won’t work. I then installed the ATK package and Smart gesture but now the touchpad and the keyboard won’t work. Nothing shows in device manager and even attaching a separate keyboard won’t work, so now i can’t even get into the laptop. Can someone please help? Thank you
Hi @debryan , Try the following to repair Windows. Start the laptop in the normal manner and when it boots into Windows press and hold the power button until the laptop shuts down. Do this 3 times in a row i.e. start > boot > force shutdown > start > boot > force shutdown > start > boot etc. On the 3rd attempt it should boot into the Windows Recovery Environment menus. If it does then once in the menus select Troubleshoot > Advanced > Startup repair and follow the prompts to repair the installation. Do not select Repair this PC because if you select the wrong option after this you can erase all your data as Windows will be reinstalled.
