Chosen Solution I was taking the battery out to replace, and I accidentally punctured it. I successfully got it out, but I just wrapped the battery up in tape, and set it in a pie pan outback. I’m not sure if this is “proper” before binning. It should be recycled but not by placing it in the recycling bin: this page should guide you in handling it safely.

Obviously i cannot grant acess due to no functioning display. Do you guys think it might be worth it to order a replacement unit and give it a shot? Chosen Solution I want to prevent the crack from spreading further as best I can. Is this a bad idea? Not really workable ;-{ The problem is you can’t get it into the crack. The two surfaces are so close together you can’t get the glue in-between. All you’’ll do is make a mess on the glass surface.
Chosen Solution The glass cracked. I find a lot of screens without lcd, but no instructions how to replace it. Is it doable? Thanks This is possible but only if the touch screen still works,. If it doesn’t you will need the digitizer as well. While it is possible though, it can be very challenging especially with large screens. The glass is usually glued to the LCD, which needs to be heated and then pryed apart without breaking the LCD....

Fitbit Alta HR if you can access the port and the board it should be possible to replace the charging port. if you dont have the proper tools, IE hot air station, solder, flux, new port it could be more costly to do it yourself as opposed to sending it to a repair shop....
